Job Title: Freelance Alteration Tailor

Store hours: 9am – 6pm, Tuesday to Saturday

Position hours: Flexible after training

This role is on an as-needed basis where scheduling is provided weekly and can vary each week. The team works on site in Etobicoke - Remote work is not available for this position.

Description: ND Studio is a tailor studio in a high traffic neighborhood on The Queensway in Etobicoke, Toronto. We offer Quality Custom Tailoring, Alterations, Repairs & Motorsport (suits, jeans, leather, sheepskin, etc.) at various prices. Clientele based, European trained and inspired tailor services for 20 years. 

Bring your skills, and work out of our space, we provide the rest (supplies, advertising, machine & space maintenance, fitting rooms, etc.). All required machines are provided by the employer, ND Studio. Training is also provided for one to two weeks (at a base hourly pay) before trainee is ready to work independently with customers. Incentives available for bringing in more customers. Sewing test is required during interview process

Pay: Commission-based – percentage of services per customer varies

• Example: 10 customers per day may require service for one outfit or whole wardrobe.

• Fitting

• Up to 5 years Sewing experience is preferred
• Customer service skills
• Teamwork
• Attention to detail
• Flexible work schedules (based on customer needs & demand)
• Operate & knowledge of industrial machines:

• 5 Thread Serger
• Single Needle Stitch Machine
• Blind Stitch
• Coverstitch
• Walking foot sewing Machine
